Norris Legran Cox, age 77, passed away January 19, 2014 in St. George, Utah. He was born February 7, 1936, in Hurricane, Utah to Charles Chester and Retta Stock Cox. Norris married Kaylene Rose Tippetts on June 16, 1972 in the Mesa LDS Temple, Mesa, Arizona.
He is survived by his wife. Kaylene Cox; children, Norris Cox, Jr., Morris (Jenni) Cox, Norrene (Travis) Covington, Sirron Cox, Nora (Patrick) Emerson, Narris Cox; six grandchildren; sisters, Rita Cox, Melve Spencer, Geneva Tanner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rhetta Cox; son, Sterling Cox; sisters, Thelma Keegan, Velda Lang, Zella O’Brien; brothers, Chester Cox, Wayne Cox and Grant Cox.
In the lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Spilsbury Mortuary to help with his funeral services.
A special thanks to the Kindred Care Center staff and Southern Utah Hospice. They will miss him saying “Don’t work too hard.” They loved his sense of humor.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George, UT. There will be a viewing Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. in the Cane Beds Cemetery, Cane Beds, Arizona. A map will be provided.
