Who We Are
Meet our staff. Members of the local community make everything that happens possible.
Together, we make this place amazing.

Edward A. (Ted) Spilsbury
Owner, Funeral Director
Following in his father’s footsteps, Ted Spilsbury is a second generation funeral director. Ted and his father, LeGrande Spilsbury, have served the residents of southern Utah, Arizona, and Nevada for a combined total of nearly 76 years. Currently serving all of southern Utah and sections of Arizona and Nevada, this beautiful mortuary is often referred to as the “Crown Jewel of Funeral Service.” As Ted and Vivian reflect upon the Spilsbury heritage of funeral service, they are very pleased that they have been able to reach such a high level of service and professionalism on behalf of the families they serve.

Vivian Spilsbury
Owner
Vivian, along with the professional and caring family of staff members, share the same mission. That is, to provide meaningful and memorable experiences for the families we have the honor of serving, and to care and participate in our community. She strives to provide comfort, hope, and peace to the families who entrust their loved ones into our care. Spilsbury serves through the adherence of our guiding principles and the Spilsbury heritage of funeral service.

Jody Spilsbury-Snow
Funeral Director
Jody is a third generation funeral director, born and raised in St. George, UT. She and her loving husband are parents to three sons. When their youngest son started school full time, Jody did as well. She enrolled in American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York, NY. Graduating in July of 2014, seventy-five years after her grandfather LeGrande Spilsbury, Jody fulfilled her lifelong dream of providing loving service to grieving families.

Raycen Snow
Funeral Director Support
Raycen has been with Spilsbury for the past eight years. Mortuary service is in his blood. He comes from a long line of Funeral Directors and is following in the footsteps of his Great Grand Father, Grandfather, and Mother. Raycen always has a smile on his face and is eager to meet any challenge that comes his way. He and his lovely wife have a beautiful daughter who is the apple of his eye. Raycen is the Cremation Specialist for our company and is an integral part of the Spilsbury team. When time allows from his busy work schedule, you will find him enjoying the outdoors, on the water surfing, in the mountains biking, and when winter hits and the snow flies, the snowboard comes out, and that is his happy place! We are proud to have Raycen as a member of the Spilsbury team!

Gabe Carpenter
General Manager, Funeral Director

Gabe is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer and takes great pride in helping families at such a difficult time in their life. He considers the funeral profession a calling and is very grateful to be a part of Spilsbury Mortuary and its mission.
Gabe has been married to his beautiful wife, Heidi, for 19 years. They are the parents of six wonderful children (Lucy, Trevan, Travis, Titus, Suzette, and Abigail).
