Boyd Adam Badali

On February 15, 2022, our favorite pilot took to the skies for his forever flight after passing away peacefully, at home, in St. George Utah. Boyd Adam Badali is the son of Joseph Augustus and Emma May Welter Badali. He was born October 29th,1965 in Branford, Connecticut, less than two blocks from the ocean. This is surely where he found his love for the water. At age 5, Boyd’s family moved to Utah.
To know Boyd was to love him instantly. He was the life of any party! His contagious laugh and outrageous stories kept everyone entertained for hours. He had a zest for life and truly lived every minute to the fullest. After graduating from Bonneville High School, Boyd attended Weber State University. It was there he joined the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and made some of his dearest, life-long friends. He was an extremely proud father; he loved fiercely and was deeply dedicated to giving his all to the people in his life. And… he gave the best hugs EVER!
Boyd loved his country and served in the United States Air Force and the Utah Air National Guard for over 20 years. He ended his career as a pilot for Delta Airlines. He loved flying, and in total, logged over 10,000 hours in the sky. He traveled to countless countries throughout his career and had a talent for picking up accents, which he imitated frequently. In 2017, Boyd walked into one of Renata’s yoga classes and in true Boyd fashion, made a memorable first impression! He was instantly hooked, and never missed a class.
After retiring to St. George, Boyd loved spending time outside enjoying the beauty of the red rock in Snow Canyon, bright blue sky, and sunshine. He was always on the hunt to add to his shiny rock collection, and anyone who visited his home could clearly see he had an obsession. He was an avid swimmer and took every opportunity he could to put on his dive gear. He also made it a goal to get his Jeep as dirty as possible every time he took it out. He had an adventurous spirit, and although we wish he had more time with us, we are grateful for the precious memories we have.
Boyd is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his siblings Paul (Melody) Badali and Debra (Wayne) Wickizer. Survivors also include his loving wife, Renata Ann Badali, daughters Ashley Badali, Rachel Badali, Sabrina Badali, Britney (Colby) Robinson, Kylie Smith, and Amanda Smith. He was adored by many nieces and nephews and 4 darling grandchildren who will forever love their “Papa Boyd.” He was a truly kind and remarkable man and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Boyd’s life will be held Monday, February 28th at 2:00 P.M. at Spilsbury Mortuary. 110 S. Bluff St., Saint George, Utah 84770. Any flowers can be sent to Spilsbury Mortuary.
Military and Civilian uniforms are welcomed. Military honors will be provided by Post 90 of the American Legion.
