David Rhaldo Tuner

September 14, 1957 — February 27, 2022

David Rhaldo Turner passed peacefully on Feb 27, 2022, surrounded by his family.

David was born Sept 14, 1957, the third of nine children to Doris and Rhaldo Turner. As a child, David experienced many life-threatening health conditions that required weekly travels to northern Utah. That paired with him being the third of nine children, whom he helped care for, influenced his decision to seek a career in the medical field to help others.

After graduation from Dixie High School, he first served his country with pride as a Navy Corpsman and then in the US Army Reserves. Later, along with his family, his hard work and dedication was a building block to the family’s successful business-The Turner Turf Farm. While stationed at Camp Pendleton in California David met and married Gloria Terlesky whom he was married to for 21 years. Together they raised five children.

David’s calling to help others led him to work as a Registered Nurse in various departments at Intermountain Health Care on the Surgery, Medical, Oncology, and Intensive Care Units before “landing on the med-surg floor” where he completed a total of 19 years of serving others before retiring. He received many letters from very grateful patients for his expertise and compassionate care.

David was a doer. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping, prospecting, poetry, gardening, fixing, and building. He built two houses from the ground up. He also loved cooking and was well known for his smoked fish, cherry cheesecake, strawberry rhubarb pie, and ribs.
David is survived by his children: Jed (Natalie), Ruby, Elizabeth (Marcus), Amy, David (Amanda), and his 10 grandchildren. Siblings: Beverly (Frank), Brent (Becky), Gary (Laurie), Kendall (Jodi), Marianne, Rob, Katie (Napoleon), Cheryl. Stepmother: Cindy and stepsiblings: Erika, Justin, Lisa, Quentin, Kirby. Family that greeted him in Heaven included his parents Rhaldo and Doris Turner. Grandparents: James and Pearl Turner, Isaac, and Ruby Robinson. His brother Garland and brother-in-law Fernando.

David has many jobs and titles in this world but the most important to him is Grandpa. He truly loved his grandchildren with all his heart.
