Glen Earl Hepworth

Glen Earl Hepworth, 88, of Hurricane, Utah, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. He was born on March 10, 1933, in Salt Lake City, UT to Ferrel H. Hepworth and Leona R. Rollins. Glen married the love of his life and eternal companion, Carolyn Sarah Atterberry on June 22, 1953, in the Salt Lake City LDS temple.

Glen was raised in Salt Lake City, UT and graduated from East High School in 1951. He attended the University of Utah from September 1951-September 1953, when he was drafted into the US Army. He served as an SP3 in the Korean Conflict at Eniwetok in the Marshall Islands and was honorably discharged at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs, CO on September 20, 1955.

Glen and Carolyn raised their family in Pueblo, CO, where they were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a member of the Pueblo 1st Ward bishopric and on the Pueblo CO Stake High Council for 13 years. Glen enjoyed playing basketball with his sons and later became their coach. He was a regional basketball referee. He truly enjoyed raising his children with his wife and enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, hiking, scouting, and watching his kids participate in a variety of sports. He loved serving on the High Council and traveling around the stake giving talks with his beautiful wife. Glen loved to paint with watercolors and became quite a talent. Many people are the thankful recipients of the beautiful stained-glass windows that he created over many years.

Glen retired after 37 years as a clerk for the Santa Fe Railroad. He also served as the Union Griever for 10 years with the Brotherhood of Railroad and Airline Clerks.

Glen is survived by his children Glen Corey (Penny) Hepworth of Colorado Springs, CO, Dale (Laura) Hepworth of Cumming, GA, Aaron (Luanne) Hepworth of Cortez, CO, Adam (MaryLynn) Hepworth of Santan, AZ, Nathen (Lisa) Hepworth of Hurricane, UT with whom he was most recently living and daughter-in law Susan Hepworth of Nibley, UT. He is also survived by 39 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, sister Katherine Richins (St.George, UT), brother Donald (Patra) Hepworth of West Valley City, UT, and sister Susan (Dwayne) Nuzman of Charleston, WV.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Sarah Hepworth, daughter Cindy Hepworth, son Abel Hepworth, great-grandson Liam Hepworth, sister Louise Hepworth, brother Sherman (Sharon) Hepworth and brother-in-law Dallas (Katherine) Richins.

A viewing will be held on December 6, 2021, at 10:00 am with funeral services to follow at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4720 Surfwood Ln, Pueblo, Colorado.
