Jimmie C. Cobb

August 19, 1938 — September 5, 2022

Jimmie C. Cobb, 84, passed away peacefully September 5, 2022, at the Southern Utah Veterans Home in Ivins, with his family by his side.

He was born August 19, 1938, in Tulare, California, to Dovie Cobb (McPhetridge) and Hollis Cobb.
He is survived by his loving wife Sue Cobb (Langston) of St. George, Utah, and three children: Sondra Wallace of St. George, Utah, Jimmie Cobb Jr. of Mission Viejo, California, and Derrick Cobb of Lake Forest, California. He is also survived by his 2 sisters; Beverly Hensley of Twin Falls, Idaho, Carolyn Buckley of Pahrump, Nevada, and his two brothers; Paul Cobb of Arroyo Grande, California, and Harold Dean Cobb of Wanette, Oklahoma. Jim also has 3 grandchildren: Zackary, Lauren, & Dallas.

Jim was raised on a dairy farm in Kingsburg, California, then moved to Richgrove, California, and later to Delano where he graduated from high school. In 1956, he joined the air force working as a Radar traffic controller in Biloxi, MS, Yuma, AZ, Great Falls, MT, and Iceland.

Jim & Sue were married July 18, 1959, in Delano, California. He attended Community College prior to passing the US postal exam in 1960. He loved hunting, fishing, playing baseball, and basketball until he found his true love - Golf.

He retired as a postal supervisor at 54 in Santa Barbara, California, and continued to pursue the love of his life, Golf. He does have the bragging rights to 11 holes in ones and many treasured memories with his golfing buddies. He had the honor of playing in Celebrity foursomes including Earnest Borgnine, and Jim Jameson in the Montecito CA Pro-Celebrity Classic. Another light in his life was coaching little league baseball and basketball in Carpinteria, California.

Jim lived a wonderful full life in the fast lane. He loved long nature walks, birds, bicycling, and gardening. Most of all he loved his grandchildren; Zachary & Lauren Wallace, Dallas Cobb, and of course, his precious dogs which all kept him on the go.

Thank you to all our friends and family who have been there with us through this battle. A special thank you to the wonderful caregivers at the Ivin's Veterans home that truly understood this devasting disease; Debbie, April, Leslie, Yolanda, Ashley, and the Hospice staff for the care Jim received at the end.
Special gratitude to Dr. Scott Parkinson who continually went above and beyond a doctor's call of duty.
We will be forever grateful to our family and friends for the outpouring of love and prayers we have received.

Happy trails to you until we meet again.
