Lavon Symes

June 22, 1935 — March 29, 2022

On March 29, 2022, LaVon Symes surrounded by family, friends and loved ones graduated from this earth life to a wonderful celebration of family, friends and loved ones on the other side of the veil. Mom was unique in so many ways. She is the daughter of Marian Arthur Roberts and Afton Oralie Biesinger. LaVon was born June 22, 1935.

LaVon grew up in the Millcreek area where she enjoyed fun and exciting adventures of that time. They had an orchard where she could run outside in the summertime and grab a handful of Cherries, Apples Peaches just as she pleased. She had many friends and cousins that she loved to play with. As she grew into her teen years she used to love to go to the movies with her friends. It was at the Crest Theater that she met our dad, the love of her life. Dad was the manager of the theater and soon hired Mom to work there. They soon married and began a family. They didn’t waste much time having four children by the time she was 21.
Mom loved Parties, throughout her life if the word party was mentioned she would be there. She had a zest for all that this life had to offer.

Mom enjoyed, summers in Bear Lake where Mom and Dad ferried a 36 ft. paddle wheel Showboat. Mom was the first women to receive a Coast Guard Chauffer’s License to be able to take visitors at Bear Lake for excursions on the lake. Mom and Dad later Divorced, which began a new chapter of her life. Mom always had a strong attraction for the Ocean, so off she went to the beaches of California. Mom got a job at Holiday Inns, and Galpin Ford as a sales representative which was the perfect job for her as she loved interacting with people. It wasn’t long after to her move to California she was introduced to Henry Izbicki were they formed a loving relationship and were together for the next 15 years. During this time she was able to realize her lifelong dream of traveling the world. They had many fun and exciting adventures. Henry passed away in 1990. Mom purchased a home close to the Ocean in Laguna Niguel, in Laguna Beach, CA where she loved spending as much time as possible at her beloved Ocean and beaches. It wasn’t long after that mom met and married Clair Loose. Together they bought a home in St. George where they spent the next several years and later divorced. With mom being closer to her children in St. George she settled in to a new home. During this time or life she spent much of her time developing life long relationships with wonderful friends that meant so very much to her. She enjoyed her calendar of lunch appointments everyday of the week with her friends and family. She developed such loving relationships with all she associated which filled her life with love and joy.

Mom came from good pioneer stock and loved her heritage. She was a valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mom has left us a wonderful legacy to continue with an amazing posterity.
