St. George -
Mary Lou Anderson was born August 21, 1945, in Bakersfield, California, the son of Charles Ward and Lillian Elizabeth (Shaline) Hensley. She graduated from Shafter High School in California, Class of 1963. Mary married Stanley Forrest Jones in 1962 and had her first child Michael William Jones in 1966. Mary and Stanley were divorced in 1968. Mary later married Robert Joseph Anderson in 1970. Robert adopted Michael as his own in 1971. They completed their family with the birth of their beautiful daughter Traci in 1973. In May of 2021, they celebrated 51 years of marriage.
After retirement in 1997, Mary and Robert moved to St. George, Utah to be closer to their kids and enjoy their golden years in beautiful Diamond Valley.
Mary loved crafting and making beautiful homemade cards which were cherished by all who received them. She adored her daughter-in-law Kristie, married to Michael and son-in-law Doug, married to Traci. She was a loving and generous person that loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
It is with great sadness that we share the news of Mary ’s passing on October 31, 2021, at age 76 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. We will forever remember Mary aka NuNu aka Crazy Old Aunt Amellia, for the caring, spit fire of a woman she was.

She was survived by her son, Michael, her daughter Traci, and her grandchildren Dayne, Kyle, Christopher, Cody, Joseph, Samantha, great grandchild Nikolai, niece Caryl and great niece Taylor.
A private service of remembrance will be held on Friday, November 5th at Spilsbury Mortuary 110 S Bluff St, St. George, UT 84770. In lieu of flowers, her family is asking that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
