Patric Robert Lewis

Patric Robert Lewis returned to his heavenly home at the age of 74, on Wednesday April 20, 2022. Pat was born in Kanab, Utah August 4, 1947, to Bernell and Elva Lewis. He married Carla Inglish on June 3, 1970, in the Los Angeles California Temple.
Pat was born and raised in Kanab Utah. He played football, baseball, basketball, and was on the track & field team, where he was the state champion in the shot put. He gained a strong work ethic at a young age working at the family meat plant next door to their home. At the time, Kanab was known as Little Hollywood and Pat enjoyed encounters with stars like Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. His family enjoyed his childhood stories about Kanab, he often said it was a wonderful place to grow up.
After high school, Pat attended Brigham Young University on a football scholarship and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics. Pat met Carla at BYU in a family home evening group and spent the next 50 plus years selflessly serving her in any way he could. Pat served in the US Army shortly after getting married. Upon completing bootcamp, he was given a medical release and honorable discharge. Pat and Carla spent the first part of their marriage in Kanab and then moved to St. George where they have happily remained ever since.
Pat took pride in and loved supporting his 5 children and their many endeavors, even switching loyalty (for a time) to a rival university to support his son’s athletic pursuits. His family has fond memories of traveling to BYU football games, Disneyland, Park City, and going on many other adventures. Pat loved spending time with the grandchildren and made each one of them feel treasured and adored.
As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pat shared the Savior’s love as he served in various church callings. He was the first bishop of the Bloomington 2nd ward, and cherished being able to love and serve its members. Pat continued his devoted service as a counselor in the Bloomington Stake presidency and enjoyed building relationships with the people in Mesquite and Bunkerville, Nevada when they became a part of the stake. Pat received a great deal of satisfaction working with young people as a counselor in a bishopric “out to the college†and as he and Carla later served a service mission with the young church service missionaries.
Pat was a leader in the community and served in many civic organizations. He served as president of the St. George Chamber of Commerce and as a board member of the Washington County School District Foundation. At the beginning of his professional career, Pat worked alongside his dad and brother helping to run Lewis Meats. He was a partner in a car dealership for a time. He spent the latter part of his career as a Real Estate Agent where he loved helping people build the house that was just right for them.
Pat leaves a legacy of Christlike love for all who knew him. He had a gift for recognizing and meeting the needs of those around him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Pat is survived by his wife Carla, St. George Utah; his children Lindsey (Chris) Kimbrough (Layton, Utah), Ryan (Jill) Lewis (Lehi, Utah), Sydney (Alan) Campbell (Herriman, Utah), Courtney Lewis (Saratoga Springs, Utah) and Tyler (Chauntelle) Lewis (Santa Clara, Utah); 20 grandchildren; sisters Judy Hurst and Kathleen Francom; brother Jerry Lewis. He is preceded in death by his parents Bernell and Elva Lewis, and granddaughter Alexys Hipwell.
Friends and Family may call at a viewing held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 5:00 â€" 7:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff St, St. George, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:00 â€" 10:30 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, at the Bloomington Stake Center, 200 W Brigham Road, St. George, Utah. Interment will take place in the Tonaquint Cemetery, at 1777 S. Dixie Dr., St. George, Utah.
