Randy Scott Winterton

July 27, 1974 — February 4, 2022

Randy Scott Winterton, 47, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022. He was born on July 27, 1974, in St. George, UT to Carolyn Hartley McDonald and Rex N Winterton. Randy was married twice. He has a son from his first marriage and stepchildren from his second, all whom he loves very much.

Randy was raised in Washington, Utah. He was the 3rd of 4 children. As a child he loved to fly kites, ride his bike, play little league baseball chasing butterflies in the outfield, be with his friends, and float the Washington canal. He was so kindhearted that he wouldn’t play football because he didn’t like knocking people down. He graduated from Pine View High School in 1992. He served a mission in Chicago, Illinois, from which he returned early due to health issues. He enjoyed horses and had several dogs through the years. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Cubs fan. He attended the Cubs’ Spring Training every chance he got. Through his adult years, he enjoyed line dancing, riding motorcycles, and building home decor. He worked for Intermountain Concrete, Geneva Pipe and Precast, and worked his dream job at St. George City maintaining the baseball fields for many years.

He fought many health issues over the years, including diabetes from a young age requiring two kidney transplants. He spent five years on dialysis while awaiting the second one. He also suffered cardiac issues.

He is survived by his parents, Rex (Laurett) Winterton and Carolyn (Jay) McDonald, his siblings, Greg (Candice) Winterton, Brenda (Colby) Seegmiller, and Brooke (Rowdy) Reeve, and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

Randy was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
