Allen Jeffrey Brost

St. George, Utah - Allen J. Brost, age 56, passed away on December 24, 2025, after a 7-year battle with cancer. He was born on June 9,1969 in St. Charles, IL to Wanda (Peschong) Brost and Jeff Brost who taught him the great love of family.

He lived in Batavia as a young boy but then moved to South Elgin, IL where he lived for the rest of his school years. He went to North Central College and Graduated with a B.S. degree in Computer Science and a B.A. degree in Math. He later got his M.S. Degree in Computer Science. He started his career at Westell Technologies (where he met his wife), then worked at Motorola for 15 years and was in his tenth year as a Software Architect at Follett at the time of his passing.

Allen married Shelly in 1994, and they had two beautiful sons, Nathan Jeffrey (30), and Hayden Charles (28) who they raised in Hampshire IL. His joy really came in having his sons. He taught them everything, played hard with them and was truly the most loving role model they could have had. He traveled with his family to our nation's National Parks and instilled a love for the outdoors in his sons. (His parents had done the same for him and his sister Leah as kids). That love brought us to Utah where the last 3 years had been the greatest gift to all of us. He rode in Enduro Motorcycle Races with Hayden, continued to play hockey and go to the gym with Nathan, camped, hiked, mountain biked, and went off-roading in his Jeep, Truck, ATV or one of his numerous motorcycles. He spent every moment he could outside. If he were home, you would find him on the balcony taking in the view while listening to music or playing his guitar. He loved it when family and friends came to Utah so he could take them out on an adventure. He lived a huge life and loved equally, as a family we were incredibly blessed. He was infectious, larger than life and full of courage and strength. He was our home.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years Shelly (Carlson) Brost, his sons Nathan and Hayden Brost. He was a loving Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend too; his mom, Wanda (Peschong) Brost, his sister Leah (Brost) Crary, his brother-in-law Scott Crary and his beloved nephew Will Crary. Other survivors include his brother-in-law Ron Carlson, sister-in-law Carmen (Gomez), Carlson, beautiful niece Sophia Rose Carlson, mother-in-law Beverly (Argyilan) Carlson, and father-in-law Ron Carlson. He also leaves behind a multitude of friends who were an amazing gift through his journey. He was preceded in death by his hero Jeff Brost. He was laid to rest In Springdale, Utah.
