Annie Lou Leslie Wilde (but don't let her hear you call her anything other than Anne - with an E), born April 19th, 1937, in Phoenix, Arizona, passed into the arms of Jesus on May 12th, 2026 at 8:30 PM. She passed away from natural causes in her home, surrounded by beloved family members and her favorite color, purple.
Anne was raised in a loving family, moving from Arizona, to California, and Idaho. She had the opportunity to attend nursing school as a young adult. It was here that she met her future husband, Lynn Wilde, at a church dance in San Luis Obispo. For the next 42 years, they made a home together in St. George and Leeds, Utah.
Anne lived a life full of ups and downs as a mother of 11 children. Even through the hard times, she remained true and faithful to her husband, family, and the Lord. She found solace and belonging in the Bible. Her favorite was the Apostle Paul and his mission.
After raising her children, Anne had a career as a nursing assistant. Not only did she take pride in her work, but her patients and their families absolutely adored her. Through their hardships, she provided a high level of care in their last moments.
She spent her golden years getting closer to her children and grandchildren, healing from past experiences. She died knowing her worth, and how much she was loved.
She found beauty in many parts of her life. She cherished the time spent going on drives with her family, sightseeing, looking at flowers and Christmas lights. She loved to stop for snacks, especially Chic-Fil-A nuggets, Coca Cola, and caramel pecan Blizzards from Dairy Queen.
She loved beautiful things; clothing, flowers, jewelry, and smelling nice. She had a sassy personality and always cracked jokes, especially into her old age.
Anne's quick wit and subtle, beautiful qualities often went unrecognized until you became close to her. This is personified in her best friend, daughter-in-law, and full-time care giver, Mary. The two of them had a deep, meaningful friendship.
1 Peter 3: 3-4
"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment ... Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfolding beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit"
Anne was loved dearly by so many people, and will be missed even more.
She is proceeded in death by her son, Millard; her husband, Lynn; parents, Fawn and Melvin Leslie; and sisters, Eileen and Melvina. She is survived by her children; Allison, Tamara, Leilani (Paul), Lynn (Teresa), Sabrina (Bill), Naomi (Kendall), Scott (Amber), Laura (Everett), Daniel (Mary), and Leslie (Aaron); her siblings, CL Leslie (Judy) and Brenda Stoker, and dozens, and dozens, and dozens of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her funeral service is to be held on May 18th, 2026, at 11 AM at Spilsbury Mortuary in St. George, Utah. She will be buried next to her husband at the Jolley-Gifford Cemetery in Springdale, Utah.
Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. 435-673-2454.
