Archie C. "Bud" Bringhurst

November 18, 1935 — June 7, 2023

Toquerville

Archie C. (Bud) Bringhurst, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, returned home on June 7, 2023, and joined his loved ones who had gone before.

Dad was born on November 18, 1935, in Toquerville, Utah, to LaVerna Chatterley and Arch Bringhurst. He had a happy, busy childhood, learning to work on the family farm. They raised peaches and strawberries, and the family pedaled the fruit throughout Southern Utah. He learned hard work on the farm, which he carried throughout his life. Dad has enjoyed true friendships with the friends he grew up with, and with other friends made along the way. He was blessed with five sisters, including his twin sister, Dolle.

He finished high school in Hurricane, Utah, and then worked for two years on the Sothern Pacific Railroad in Nevada.

Archie married Vina Ruth Miles in the St. George LDS Temple in 1957. Their marriage was blessed with three wonderful sons, Bradley, Kurtis, and Gregory, who have been a help and joy to their dad and their family.

After two years of college in Cedar City and one year at the Provo Trade Tech College, he discovered he had a natural talent and ability to create beautiful things. He truly had a gift and desire to build homes. After building custom homes in Provo for 20 years, Dad moved his family back to Southern Utah in 1978, where his reputation of being a thorough, honest, and excellent builder, allowed him to provide a good living for his family.

Dad loved any outdoor activity and spent many hours in the wild enjoying hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. He also loved to go with the family to our cabin in Glenwood, Utah, located near Fish Lake. Together, our family enjoyed many years of camping, boating, and sharing the love of outdoor activities.

He particularly enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him much fun and added to the spark of older years. They are the treasures and joy that put the cap on his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him!

He is preceded in death by his sons, Bradley and Kurtis, parents, Arch and LaVerna Bringhurst, sisters, Martha Jane Lemmon, Geraldine Thompson, Viona Wilson, Katheryn Cornelius, and twin sister, Dolle Dado.

He is survived by his wife, Vina Ruth, son, Greg, four grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express thanks to the staff at Sun Tree Hospice, especially Archie’s nurses: Trinity & Lacey.
