Charlie Ollan "Chuck" Phillips

Charlie Ollan “Chuck” Phillips, 91, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
Charlie was born May 7, 1931, in Brooken, Haskell County, Oklahoma. The second of three children, born to Charlie Lee and Emma Gann Phillips.
Charlie married Girtie G Moore on September 15, 1947, in Van Buren, Arkansas. From this union, four boys were born, Dannie O., Terry A., Randy L., and Richard C. Phillips. They were later divorced.
Charlie then married Lydia B. Murphy July 12, 1958, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had one sone, Steven R.
Charlie lived in Oklahoma until the mid to late 1940’s, then moved to Arvin, California and worked on the farms there. In about 1957, he then moved to Southern California and in 1957, he went to work at Utility Trailer in City of Industry. He worked there for 35 years and retired there in 1992.
Upon retirement, he moved to Salina, Utah. From there they moved to Hurricane, Utah where he spent the remainder of his life enjoying helping the ones that lived in Lava Bluff doing handyman and odds and ends jobs up to his final days.
Charlie is survived by his three sons, Terry A. (Sue) Phillips of Aurora, Utah, Richard Phillips of Elsinore, Utah and Steven Phillips of Richfield, Utah.
Charlie was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lydia B., his parents, two sons, Dannie O. and Randy L. Phillips and three grandsons.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 12:00 pm, one hour prior to the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Spilsbury Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 25 N 2000 W, Hurricane, Utah 84737.
Interment will be in the Hurricane City Cemetery.
