Cheri Lyn Drew was born on June 13, 1946, in St. George, Utah, to Rulon G. Pectol and Cleo Erana Christensen. She passed away on March 1, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family.
Cheri spent her early years in St. George where she attended Dixie High School. She would often recount stories of spending her summers in Salina, Utah with her cousins and Grandmother Momsie, where she felt very loved.
Shortly after graduating high school in 1964, Cheri moved to the Bay Area in California for a brief time to be with her brother Brent. During this time, her first son, Curtis, was born. She later moved to Las Vegas and traveled back and forth to St. George where her second son, Kyle, was born, both children from her first marriage.
While in Las Vegas, Cheri met and married Ron Drew, who came with two beautiful daughters, Ronda and Cherri. They decided to move back to Cheri's hometown of St. George, build a business (Drew's Quality Cabinets), raise their family, and live their dream.
Cheri spent 29 years employed at Dixie College, where she was a valuable member of the Student Union Department, developing many relationships and mentoring an entire generation of students. She always had a warm smile and a way of giving confidence with her wise words and witty advice. During her time there, she studied and received an associate degree in business. After her time working at Dixie College, she was able to spend more time at the family business.
Cheri loved spending endless days at the lake with her family where she enjoyed water sports and leisure time soaking up the sun. She took great pride in keeping her surroundings beautiful and having things tidy. She loved her family dearly but had room in her heart for everyone. If she said something, she meant it. Her love for shopping was outrageous; she loved to shop and buy gifts for everyone which she called "Little Prizes."
Cheri was dedicated to her sweetheart Ron; they were two peas in a pod. They did everything together: shopping, hunting, NASCAR, trips to Del Coronado every year with their family, shopping, and more shopping.
Cheri was sealed to her devoted and eternal companion, Ronald Drew, on August 25, 2017, in the St. George LDS Temple.
Cheri is survived by her husband, Ronald, brother, Brent (Betty), two sons, Curtis (Kristy) and Kyle (Leeza), two step-daughters, Ronda (Dan) and Cherri (Travis), 12 grandchildren, JD (Summer), Jason (Jessica), Austin (Chantal), Ashlynn (Quinn), Bradley (Makenzie), Jordyn, Jeremy, Tyler, Mckayla, TJ, Andrea and Drew and 11 great-grandchildren, Ryder, Kambria, Danger, Sailor, Pyper, Zepplyn, Everley, Kannon, Elijah, Ezekiel and Ezra.
Cheri was preceded in death by her parents, Rulon and Cleo Pectol, her brother Hal Pectol, her sister-in-law Karma Pectol, and her nephew Wyatt Pectol.
