Christel (Lizotte) Bolinder

October 19, 1947 — April 22, 2022

St.George, Utah â€" Christel (Lizotte) Bolinder, died Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Seasons Rehabilitation.

Christel Bieberschulte was born in Neviges, Germany on September 25, 1928. The First daughter of Regina and Maximillian.  Raised during a difficult period in history, the German depression and World War II, her father was killed while serving in the German Army.

After the war, Christel emigrated to the United States.  In the early 1950s, she met Theodore Nalepa, they were married in New York City and lived in numerous places while Ted was in the US Air Force and worked as an electronics technician.  They settled in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1965 where Christel was a homemaker and raised their four children

Christel divorced in 1975.  In 1980, she married Norman “Jack†Lizotte. They lived in Marlborough, Massachusetts and Las Vegas, Nevada during the 1980s.  After Christel’s mother passed in 1989, she and Jack moved to St. George, Utah in 1992. They built a house and lived there until Jack died in 2005.

In 2006, Christel met and later married Glen Bolinder. They traveled often, including Glen’s first cross-country trip in 2010. They were divorced in 2014.

Christel continued to live in St. George, surrounded by a close group of friends.  She frequently enjoyed day trips to the casinos in Mesquite, Nevada. Christel enjoyed a life of excellent health, but age slowly took its toll.  Her slow decline accelerated in 2021 and she was admitted to Seasons Rehabilitation in January 2022.  Throughout, she maintained a wonderful attitude about life and understanding God keeps us here for a reason.

Surviving family includes her sister, Ulla who still lives in Germany.  Four Children: James T. Nalepa, Gerald F. Nalepa (Colonel, USMCR, Retired), Linda D. Nalepa and Christel R. Ogle, as well as numerous grandchildren.
