Christopher Allen Boyd

Christopher Allen Boyd, 35, passed away May 6, 2023. He was born September 18, 1987, in Long Beach, California, to John & Laima Boyd (Dzerve).

Chris was raised primarily in Santa Ana, California. He attended Saddleback High School and California State University Fullerton. He absolutely loved baseball and played until an arm injury kept him from pursuing his dream of becoming a professional baseball player. Chris was a Boy Scout and scouted from the time of kindergarten till beyond high school. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout when he was 15 years old. Chris found out he had carcinoid cancer of the stomach in 2017 but that didn’t keep the smile off his face or the desire to help others. Chris made friends everywhere he went and will be truly missed by many, many people.

Chris met Summer Kohanek in 2018. In 2020, Chris & Summer took up temporary residence in St George, Utah, but Chris traveled to and from Califormia for medical care. Chris is survived by his fiancé, Summer Kohanek, his mom, Laima Boyd, Siblings – Tim Boyd, Megan Boyd, and Jennifer Poole, and his dog, Whiskey.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 3519 Manzanita Rd, St George, Utah, 84790 and on June 24, 2023, at 11:00 am, at The Well Christian Fellowship, 3250 E 19^th St, Signal Hill, California, 90755.
