Corinne Stout

Hurricane, Corinne Stratton Stout, age 87, passed away at home on May 30, 2025. Corinne was born on June 15, 1937 in Hurricane, Utah. She was the eldest of 4 children born to Ermal and Isabel Stringham Stratton.

Corinne spent her childhood and adult life living in Hurricane, where she attended elementary and high schools. It was at Hurricane High school that she first met her sweetheart Dell Crawford Stout. They married on March 20, 1953 in the St. George LDS Temple. In her later years, Corinne attended Dixie College and received an associates degree at the wise age of 61. She loved learning, formal and informal, and made it a lifelong dedication.

Of Corinne's many life endeavors, her greatest legacy is her love for Dell and her children. She was mother to 12 and full-time homemaker. She invested her time in her family as a whole and also with each one individually. Her children and grandchildren all have happy memories with her. She loved to gather her family together, whether on trips, for Sunday dinners or for reunions. Corinne loved to travel and to experience new things. Even in her older years, she traveled all over the world.

Corinne was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many leadership positions at church and also supported Dell in many. Dell and Corinne served 2 missions together, one in the Florida Orlando mission and another in the Utah South Mission. Corinne was a diligent ministering sister to many, assigned and unassigned. She had a listening ear and a wise heart and served as a dear friend and counselor to many.

Corinne is survived by her children Dennis (Sandy) Stout, Deward (Stafeen) Stout, Keith (JoAnn) Stout, Marsha (John) Postert, Laron (Amy) Stout, Dorene (Josh) Libertor, Carolee (Brett) Poulson all of Hurricane; Denae (Gary) Adams of Roy, UT, Melissa (Tanner) Cropper of Ashland, OR, (Myrna) Stout of St. George, UT, Alberta Smallcanyon (foster daughter) of Shiprock, NM; 46 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren! She is also survived by her sister Helen (Demar) Gubler and brother Jim (Dana) Stratton. She is preceded in death by her sweetheart Dell and 3 sons, Ronald, Kelly, and Roger.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, at 11 am, at the Hurricane LDS Colonial Bldg, 658 W. 1500 S. A viewing will be held Saturday 9-10:30 am at the same chapel. Interment will take place at the Hurricane City Cemetery.
