Dale Gubler

November 10, 1932 — January 1, 2023

Our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend is “Back in the Saddle Again.” Dale Gubler passed away January 1, 2023, at the St. George Regional Hospital, at age 90, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Dale was born November 10, 1932, in Santa Clara, Utah, to Archie H. and Marie Blake Gubler. He married Sheree Miles on May 8, 1953, in the St. George LDS temple.
Dale loved his brothers and sister. They worked together to make ends meet. Dale had fond memories working with his family members, peddling peaches and produce to Beaver and the surrounding areas. His father, Archie, recognized his instinct and love for livestock and promising talent as a cattleman. So, at a young age, Dale was sent to ride with the seasoned cowboys. Dale wisely watched and learned from them.
Dale loved to improve ranches. He partnered with the best men. With partners, he purchased and improved the Parachant Ranch on the south end of the Arizona strip. He later purchased and improved ranches in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. Dale taught his sons the cattle business and they are now developing the 4th generation of cowboys, which greatly pleased Dale. In 1980, G & F Ranches was awarded the Rancher of the year award by Society for Range Management Utah Section. In 2014, Dale was the recipient of the Ogden Pioneer Day, National Day of the American Cowboy, for Washington County.
Dale served our country in the Korean War, and our community as a regional board member for Zions First National Bank, and as a board member and chairman for the Washington County Water Conservancy District.
Dale and Sheree are lifetime active members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Dale served in ward and stake callings. He served as president of the St. George Stake, which was split due to rapid growth, and he became president of the St. George West Stake, which was also split, and became president of the Santa Clara Stake. He served as sealer in the St. George Temple for 25 years. He and Sheree were missionaries in the England London South mission, Directors of the Cove Fort Visitors Center, and The Mormon Battalion Visitors Center in San Diego. He spoke fondly of the people they served with.
The greatest joy of Dale’s life was his sweetheart, Sheree, whom he adored, their seven children, 28 grandchildren and 71 great grandchildren. Dale and Sheree made time for family memories and traditions, which will carry on for generations. Dale is survived by his wife Sheree Miles and all their children and spouses. William Miles (Julie), Camille (Clayton) Leavitt, Shandon Dale (Sue), Lonne Miles (Nancy), Thomas Miles (Lisa), Heather (Wade) Ovard, Megan (Bart) Smith. He is also survived by his oldest brother Orwin and wife Velda Gubler.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, sister Anna (Eldred) Smith, and brothers Lester (Mary), DeLoy (LaDawn), Clark (Deanne).
