David Elden Denney

David Elden Denney passed away incident to age on Friday, January 12, 2024. He was 85. He joins his dear wife of 56 years in death, Judy Karen Adams Denney (1942–2018).

David was born on a farm outside of Blackfoot, Idaho, on March 7, 1938, to Boyd and Vivian Denney. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1956. He attended Idaho State College for two years, before departing for an LDS church mission in 1958 to Auckland, New Zealand.

After his mission, David attended Brigham Young University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. While attending BYU, he met the love of his life, Judy Adams. They were married for time and all eternity in 1962, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. David spent his career in the banking industry in Preston, Idaho, and Logan, Utah, as a Loan Officer and Branch Manager. David also served in the Army National Guard and US Army Reserve.

Following his retirement, David spent time in volunteer service to his community and church locally with Intermountain Healthcare, various LDS Bishoprics, St. George LDS Temple, “St. George Live”, and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. He and Judy also had fun working as extras in several Hallmark movies made in the St. George area. Throughout his early life and into retirement, David’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, and snow skiing.

David and Judy loved to travel and vacation around the world. One of their most memorable trips was to Australia and New Zealand, where David took Judy to visit his former mission area. They also enjoyed cruising and celebrated their 50th Anniversary on a trip at sea with their entire family. Anyone visiting their home marveled at his extensive baseball cap collection on display.

David and Judy were blessed with four children: Dayna, Darren, Deena, and Jaime. David is survived by: Darren (Nichola) Denney, (Las Vegas, NV), Deena Wolfley (Logan, UT), Jaime (Robert) Davis (Gardner, KS); six grandchildren; Kyle Odin (Hannah), Cody and Jake Davis, Carter and Chloe Wolfley and Hayden Hone; and two great-granddaughters; Oakley Nicholls and Ripley Odin.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dayna Kimball (1964-2012) and grandson Derk Kimball (1985-2005).
