Fawn Mitchell

Fawn Gubler Mitchell, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed through the veil into the arms of loved ones, July 23, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Fawn was born on March 18, 1936, in Santa Clara, Utah to Edmund and Eliza Hafen Gubler.

Fawn spent her early years helping her father on the farm. This taught her the value of hard work. Her chores included milking cows and harvesting crops. She also learned to make butter and lye soap. Fawn attended elementary school in Santa Clara and graduated from Dixie High School in St. George, UT. Fawn dated Ormon Wilkins Mitchell throughout high school. Following Fawn's graduation, Ormon proposed. The two were married September 23, 1954, in the St. George, Utah, LDS Temple. Fawn and Ormon were blessed with four wonderful Children.

Fawn was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and dedicated her life to service. Her many callings included Primary and Relief Society Presidencies, nine years as Ward Librarian, 14 years of temple work, and serving a mission with her husband, Ormon. Fawn was proud of the thousands of temple endowments she completed for her departed ancestors.

Fawn is survived by her loving husband, Ormon Wilkins Mitchell, Children; Rex Ormon Mitchell, Kristine Mitchell Cleveland, Mary Ann Mitchell Andersen (Cory), and Bryce Edmund Mitchell (Angaletta), 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters; Edna Hunt and Rita Hansen along with numerous nieces and nephews. Fawn is preceded in death by her parents, Grandson; Zachary James Cleveland, Brother; Darwin Gubler and sisters; Wilma Gubler, Vanola Wittwer, Jewell Frei, Cleopa LaBaron, and Linna Rosenlof.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 9:30-10:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT. The burial will be in the Veyo Cemetery, Veyo, UT.
