Felix Abelardo "Al" Jimenez, age 77, passed away peacefully in his home on November 23rd, 2025. He was born May 18th, 1948, in Mexico City, Mexico to Ernesto Caballero Jimenez and Angela Marie Aguila. On May 3rd, 1984, He was sealed to his beloved wife Sherry Ann Jimenez, in the Los Angeles Temple for Time and All eternity.
As a young child he moved to the United States with his mother and brother. He lived in Texas and New Mexico before settling in California where he met the love of his life. He was eternally devoted to Sherry, and they were married for 41 years. Their love stood the test of time. Al was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his children with all his heart. Watching his family grow brought so much joy to him.
Al was the sweetest soul you have ever met. No one crossed paths with him and didn't come away feeling the warmth and kindness of his heart. He was the best example of all the best things a man can be: He was patient, forgiving, patriotic, and faithful. His example is reflected in the lives of his children and how they navigate this world.
Al worked harder than any other person you met. He would spend all day at work earning money to support his family, then he would come home and serve his fellow man. He was constantly visiting members of the church, helping his neighbors when they needed a hand and taking care of Sherry's to do list. If ever one of his children or friends needed help, he was by their side.
Al became a member of the church in 1983 and developed a strong testimony. He was proudly married in the temple and sealed to all his children. He spent time with Sherry working in the temple as ordinance workers, which brought both so much happiness. Through all his trials he never lost faith.
He loved to take long walks, hiking, shooting his guns, and poking around in the yard with Sherry. His children remember taking long walks along the railroad tracks and spending days in the mountains shooting and target practicing. Al loved a good western book and read the Louis Lamour books over and over till the bindings fell apart. He also enjoyed watching western, war and Indiana Jones movies, along with a big tub of popcorn.
Al is survived by his loving family. His son Glen Sallee (Melody) Phelan, California, son Aaron Sallee (Nicole) Perrin, Texas, son Steven Sallee, Saint George Utah, daughter Deborah Sallee (Amy) Aurora, Colorado, son Juan Albelardo Jimenez, California, daughter Margaret Wade (Edward), Saint George, Utah; Grandchildren: Glen Jr, Kaitlin, Sarah, Bradley, Brooke, Owen, Brohdy, Dakohda, Shakira and Andrew; a sister-in-law Roselie Peterson.
