Goldie Mae Morris Martindale, age 73, passed away on January 18, 2026. She was born on May 25, 1952, in Lubbock, Texas, to Porter Glen Morris and Anna Mary Hawk. Goldie resided in Hurricane, Utah.

Goldie was united in marriage to David A. Martindale on January 19, 2007, on the beautiful island of Saint Kitts. Their marriage was filled with love, devotion, and shared faith.

At the young age of 12, Goldie was diagnosed with rheumatic fever and underwent her first open-heart surgery, becoming one of the youngest recipients of a mechanical heart valve. Seven years later, she endured a second open-heart surgery to replace a ventricular valve. Over the course of her lifetime, Goldie bravely faced four open-heart surgeries and seven pacemaker replacements. Despite these challenges, she lived a life defined by strength, compassion, and unwavering faith.

As a young girl, Goldie once told her doctors that her family could not afford her surgery and asked how she could ever repay them. She was told to become a nurse. True to her word, Goldie not only became a nurse but pursued a career as a cardiovascular nurse so she could help care for others facing the same heart conditions she lived with herself. Her life was a testament to service, perseverance, and grace.

Her faith guided her life and the way she cared for others, shaping both her personal relationships and her professional calling. Goldie's impact lives on through the many patients and families she cared for throughout her nursing career.

Goldie is survived by her loving husband, David Martindale; her stepchildren, Sam Martindale and Molly Martindale; her son-in-law, Bryan Boyd; and her cherished grandchildren, Logan LaJoie, Mak Boyd and Kit Boyd. She is also survived by her siblings, Phyllis Williams of Glen Rose, Texas, and her husband, Gary Williams; James Morris; Elaine Parsons; and William Morris. She is further survived by her nephew, Bubba Williams, and his wife, Missy Williams, of Fort Worth, Texas.

Goldie was truly an angel of God, and her family takes comfort in knowing she is now with Him in the heavens above.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to St. George Regional Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion in treating Goldie, and to Spilsbury Mortuary for the care and dignity shown to her at this time.
