St. George, Utah - Jessica ‘Jesi’ Miranda Nelson, 28, passed away Monday February 13, 2023. She was born June 16, 1994, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Heather & Frank Nelson.
Jessica Nelson, known to many as Jesi, was born to Heather and Frank Nelson at Utah University Hospital in Salt Lake City on June 16, 1994. She was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in June of 2002.
Jesi graduated from Pineview High School class of 2012. She later attended Paul Mitchell Cosmetology and Beauty School of St. George, Utah, in 2013, and later attended Snow College in Ephraim Utah. Jesi enjoyed doing others hair, makeup, and nails, and most of all enjoyed the conversations she would share with others while working on them.
She was married March 8, 2014, to Mason Burton. They divorced in 2016. Wraith Axle Burton was born to Jessica and Mason on July 29, 2014. Jesi’s greatest achievement in life is that of being a mom to Wraith. Jesi loves Wraith beyond words and comparison, he is her beacon of light, and her best friend.
Jesi is the oldest of 7 children and loves her younger siblings with an unparalleled love. She is an exemplar of generosity and excelled in love, compassion, kindness and as a true friend to all. She is dearly missed by all; we look forward to the day we meet her again.
Jesi is survived by her son Wraith Burton; parents, Heather and Frank Nelson; sisters Mackenzie Nelson and Jia Li Nelson; brothers Damion Nelson, Gavin Nelson, Avrian Nelson, and Zeshawn Nelson
A visitation will be held Friday, February 17, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 pm, as well as on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 12:00 – 1:30 pm, at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 1:30 pm. Interment will take place at Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
