Joan Pymm Brown

Joan Pymm Brown, born on August 15, 1930, in St. George, Utah, peacefully passed away on June 17, 2024, in Dammeron Valley, Utah, at the home of her niece and nephew, Rebecca (Beki) Sims and Brett Barlow. Joan was 93 years old.

Joan grew up in St. George with her loving parents, Henry Marvin Pymm and Alice Turner Pymm, and her cherished siblings, Aileene Pymm, Lola Pymm (D. Wayne) Sims, and James Darwin Pymm. After completing her education in St. George, Joan was eager to explore the world. She moved to Southern California, where she embarked on a fulfilling career with Western Airlines. Later, she transferred to Las Vegas, continuing her work with Delta in the ticket office. It was in Las Vegas that she met and married the love of her life, Clyde R. Brown. Together, they traveled extensively, experiencing the beauty of many countries. They resided for a time in Anaheim, California, and Phoenix, Arizona, before ultimately retiring in Las Vegas.

Joan had an infectious love for shopping, delighting in finding just the right item. Her passion for music was evident as she often sang along, sometimes making up lyrics as she went. Joan's positive outlook on life and her ability to see the bright side of any situation were truly inspiring. She adored her family and was always there to support them in times of need. Known for her quick wit and fun sense of humor, Joan was always up for an outing and adventure.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dixie Home Hospice for the incredible care provided to Joan. Britni, Jill, and Codi were exceptionally attentive and sensitive to her needs and those of the family.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Clyde, her brother J. Darwin Pymm, her sister Lola P. (Wayne) Sims, her nephew Harvey T. Sims, and her niece Jodie Sims (Giff) Smith. She is survived by her sister Aileene Pymm, her stepdaughters Susan Brown Peninger and Cynthia Brown, her nieces Beki Sims (Brett) Barlow, Lisa Sims (Russ) Ence, and Tais Pymm (Dwight) Allen, as well as her great-nephews and nieces Colt (Maggie) Smith, Sariann (Erick) Irvin, Jesse Henry Sims, Ciera Sims, Brady (Aubrey) Ence, Carson (Danielle) Ence, Stephanie (Kaleb) Hurst, Garrett (Cydney) Ence, Rory Allen, Sage Allen, and 15 great-great nephews and nieces.
