John Henry Bowler, 72, passed away July 11, 2025, due to complications of Parkinson's disease. He was born January 24, 1953, in St. George, Utah to Guy Wilson Bowler and Gertrude Jensen Bowler.
John and his nine siblings were raised in Gunlock where he learned the importance of working hard, serving others, and serving the Lord.
He attended Dixie High School and served an LDS Cumorah NY mission. While on his mission, John was able to participate in the Hill Cumorah pageant.
John married Deborah Ann Ashworth on January 30, 1976, and they were the parents of CariDaun, Dane and Megan. He later married Shelley Stephens on September 3, 1988 and he adopted her son, Shawn.
John was a hard-working rancher who was always willing to lend a hand, share a laugh and tell a story. He worked the presses at Moore Business Forms where he made many friends and lasting memories.
John is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Loreen (Andy) Wilson, his first wife Deborah, his daughter Megan, and his son Shawn.
He is survived by his wife Shelley, children; CariDaun (Kyle) Tobler and Dane. He is also survived by siblings; Gail Humphries, Bradley (Vicky) Bowler, Marie (Larry) Jessup, Kalvin (Becky) Bowler, Kendle (Robin) Bowler, Vance (Julianne) Bowler, Dorrel (Joni) Bowler, and ODean (Kim) Bowler, as well as seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a barn full of nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 15 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Spilsbury Mortuary. On Wednesday, July 16, another viewing will be held before the service at 9:30 - 10:30 am at the Gunlock LDS Chapel with the funeral service following at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the funeral service at 12:30 pm at the Gunlock Cemetery.
