Julie Johnson Fairbanks, of St. George, Utah, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in the St. George Regional Hospital.
She was born on September 21, 1974, in Paradise, California, to her loving parents Robert William Johnson and Linda "Karen" Tovey. Julie married her sweetheart, Sterling David Fairbanks, on November 18, 1995, at her Nana and Papa's home in Magalia, located just above Paradise, California. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Portland Oregon Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 1, 1999.
Julie was one of eight children, with three brothers and four sisters. As the middle child, she was truly the glue that held her family together. She graduated from Chatsworth High School in Los Angeles, California, in 1992, and went on to attend nursing school, where she earned her LVN license - a career she loved deeply.
Throughout her life, Julie lived in Paradise, Los Angeles and Chico, California; Portland, Oregon; and eventually St. George, Utah, after the 2018 Camp Fire. She worked as an LVN in hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics, always showing compassion and kindness to those she cared for.
Julie was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She loved horses, cats, and chocolate, and she found joy in making scrapbooks of her children. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family. She read her scriptures faithfully every night for many years and found strength in her faith. She also loved family trips to Disney World and cherished every memory made there.
Julie is survived by her husband, Sterling David Fairbanks; her children: Sterling Tanner Fairbanks (and his partner, Sami Hipes); Shy (Thomas) Fairbanks; Ty Jackson Fairbanks (and his partner, Breanne Pierce); and Victoria Lynn Fairbanks (and her partner, Devryn Hall); as well as her beloved grandchildren, Nova Rayne Hall and Theodore Charles Bo Hall.
She is also survived by her mother, Linda "Karen" Spilsbury of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; her siblings: Robert Tovey Johnson, Kimberly Karen Mangrum, Candy Johnson Hallanger, William Roger Johnson, Kristi Lynn Miller, and Kelsey Dee Kessie; and their spouses; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert William Johnson; her brother, Richard Keith Johnson (who passed away at birth); and her father-in-law, Sterling Edward Fairbanks, who loved her like a daughter, and her Grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1275 Billie Road Paradise, CA. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, 980 Elliott Road, Paradise, California.
Services are arranged by Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. 435-673-2454.
Julie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, love, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.
