Kristine Wayman (Burgess) passed away surrounded by family on March 19, 2026. She was born May 20, 1957, to Janice Jones (Payne) and Jackson LeRoy Burgess in Ogden, Utah.
Kris was well known in the customer and food industry. She was a very dedicated and hard worker. She loved working in Zion Canyon, especially at the Pioneer restaurant, Indian Village gift shop, and Oscars Café. She always showed great work ethic and touched the hearts of many people she came in contact with.
Kris also had a great fashion sense about her. She always dressed nice and wore the best artistic jewelry. She loved her turquoise. She loved Native American art, hunting, fishing, camping, music, and a good book.
Later in life, she was always on a whirl wind vacation or adventure with her husband, Boyd. They went on many vacations, including their most memorable trip to Alaska. They also frequently visited Kolob, Cedar Mountain, and East Zion. They would even bring their K9 companions, Sami, Hoku, and Hands Full.
Boyd Winder was no doubt the spark in her life. Kris was a great mother, grandmother, and friend to all she loved. She loved spending time with family and looked forward to Sunday family dinners.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Winder; mother, Janice; and sister, Kim.
She is survived by her sons, Travish Ruesch and Heath Serna; grandchildren, Sarina, Trinity, Ashdon, Scout, Elizabeth, Scarlett, Abel, Kyson, Kota, Indy, Patrick, Lex, and Landyn; as well as her great-grandchildren, Torrin and baby Birdie.
Services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Springdale Cemetery at 2:00pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Springdale park.
Fly high, beautiful angel.
