St. George, Utah –
Lawrence Devon Barr, 76, passed away March 10, 2023, at home. He was born December 17, 1946, to Harold and Antonia Barr. He married Renee Howe, January 3, 1983, in Lucas County, Ohio.
Larry was raised in Middleton, Michigan through his primary school education. He briefly attended Michigan State University before enlisting in the US Navy for 4 years as a Machinist's Mate. Following his naval service, he was hired by General Motors in Lansing, Michigan for refrigeration skilled trade where he worked for over 35 years. After his retirement from GM, Larry worked as a mechanical inspector in Lansing, Michigan, and then as a bus driver in Vacaville, California and Phoenix, Arizona.
Larry had a passion for cribbage, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He loved driving and exploring the trails around St. George, taking in the beautiful scenery that Utah has to offer.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Renee of St. George, Utah; his sons Tony (Sarah) of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Ken (Dana) of Howell, Michigan; his brother, Chris of Middleton, Michigan, as well as his grandchildren Mia, Miles, Harper, Harley, Isaac, and Ben. He will always be remembered for his kind heart, his warm smile, and his infectious sense of humor. He will be deeply missed.
A private memorial service will be held for his family; following the service, his ashes will be spread along the trails of St. George.
