Lisa Ann Phelps passed away Monday, November 24th 2025 in Saint George Utah.

She was born July 20th 1956 in Nagoya, Japan to Ambrose Waldo Stone and Leona Marie Giles while her Father was stationed there during his service in the US Air Force. Lisa married James Wallace Phelps on June 14th 1976 in Reno Nevada and were sealed in the Oakland California LDS temple in August 1977.

Lisa was raised in Japan, Athens Georgia, Bangor Maine, and when her Father retired from the Air Force they moved to the Reno Nevada area where her Father worked at the VA Hospital.
While Lisa and James were living in Reno he enlisted in the US Air Force. James was enlisted from 1977 to 1981. During the time James was enlisted Lisa lived in Aurora Colorado then Victorville California (George Air Force Base). When James was done with his enlistment they moved back to Reno Nevada where he became a truck driver.

During their marriage they lived in Reno Nevada, Phoenix Arizona, Salt Lake City Utah, Las Vegas Nevada, and ended up just outside of Mesquite Nevada in Scenic Arizona.

Lisa loved her family and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in many callings such as Relief Society President, Gospel Doctrine teacher, and most recently as the Music Director in the Scenic Ward. Lisa loved serving in the Temple and enjoyed the wonderful friendships she made there. Lisa taught herself to play the piano and organ, to paint, sew, quilt, and was a wonderful cook. Lisa and James had just started getting into gardening and she was so excited to see "the fruit of her labors".

Lisa left High School in 10th grade but went to night school and got her GED. She then went to Business School and received an Associate Degree in Business Management and later became a Certified Nurses Assistant.

Lisa is preceded in death by both her parents, Ambrose and Leona (Giles) Stone, both In-Laws Cordell and Jean (Halls) Phelps, older brother Jr. and his wife Debbie, younger brother Harold Stone, and her sister Karen Marshall and her husband Scott.

Lisa is survived by her forever companion James Wallace Phelps, 3 children- Daniel (Amanda) Phelps, James (Mindy) Phelps, and Tiffany (Curtis) Harper, 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grand daughter, 1 brother and 4 sisters.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff Street, St. George, UT 84770. Funeral services will be Friday, December 5th 2025 at the Littlefield LDS Chapel. located at 3260 Hwy 91, Littlefield, AZ 86432. The viewing will be from 9:30-10:30am MST and Memorial service at 11:00am. Interment will be Monday, December 8th at 1:00pm at the Marysvale Cemetary in Marysvale Utah.
