Lorraine "Doodle" Julius Wittwer

Lorraine Julius Wittwer, 88, passed away peacefully September 10, 2023, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 19, 1935, in Santa Clara, Utah, to Julius and Golda Wittwer. Doodle was raised in Santa Clara, Utah. He attended Santa Clara Elementary School, Woodward Jr. High, and graduated from Dixie High School. He grew up working on the family dairy and farm along with his brother, Erle, and his sister, Lucy. He learned to wake early in the morning to milk and feed the cows. The milk was then transported to Southern Nevada. He spent his summers playing basketball with the other Santa Clara boys and swimming at the Boys Pond.

He married at a young age and had two daughters, Toni Lyn and Julie Ann. Later, he married the love of his life, RaeNyce Larson. They were together 61 years. They were blessed with 3 children, Jeffery Lorraine, Wayne Julius, and Misty. Doodle was always a hard worker. Along with working on the farm, he worked driving truck for Ence Brothers Trucking. Later, he became the superintendent of the St. George water department. Upon retiring from the city, he bought and built a ranch and farm in Enterprise. He worked passionately to make it a success. It was a popular family gathering place. He was a great example and hero to his children and grandchildren. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings.

Doodle is survived by his children; Toni Greer, of Weiser, Idaho; Julie Calico of St. George; Jeffery Wittwer of Santa Clara; Wayne Wittwer of St. George; Misty Fisher of Santa Clara; sister, Lucy Leavitt of St. George; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and brother, Erle Wittwer, his son-in-law, Dennis Calico, grandson, Trent Calico, and daughter-in-law, Tonya Wittwer.

A special thanks to Glo, Rose, Mary Lou, and Tammy for their loving care of our father and grandfather.
