Margaret Henrietta Underhill Stewart

Margaret Henrietta Underhill Stewart, 98, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the home of her daughter in Hemet, California. She was born on December 17, 1924, in Battersea, Surrey, England, to Charles Redvers Aubrey Underhill and Mabel Ada Holden Davies. 
Margaret joined the Women’s Land Army during WWII and was assigned to the Timber Corps of the British Forestry Department felling trees. That is when she met her sweetheart Robert Burns Stewart who served in the Royal Canadian Regiment. They were married on December 4, 1943, in Battersea, Surrey, England.  
Margaret was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught seminary, served as relief society president, and served for many years in the St. George Temple. As a couple, Margaret and Robert served a full-time mission to Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India.
Margaret is survived by her sister Barbara Mabel Underhill Brown of Newark, England; her children: Daniel (Mariana Kohu, deceased), Judy Hardy (Michael), Christine Blockburger (Steven), Alexander Stewart, Patricia Riley (Perley), Wendy McCabe (Patrick, deceased), and Mary Buckley (William). She was predeceased by her daughter Deborah Delgado and son-in-law William Delgado. Margaret has 23 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. 
Services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah, with a visitation prior to services from 9:30-10:30 am. 
Interment will take place in Tonaquint Cemetery.
