Mary Louise Demille

January 25, 1946 — September 20, 2022

St. George, Utah - Mary Louise DeMille, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, died on September 20, 2022. Mary was born on January 25, 1946, to parents Eldon Mack and Frances Edna Brickey. She was married on October 9,1965 to Wallace Lynn DeMille in the St. George Temple.

Mary Lou was an angel sent here on earth with the most beautiful smile that would light up an entire room. She was gentle and kind to everyone that met her and would do anything to help those she loved. Our grandmother loved each one of her grandchildren with her whole heart and made sure we knew it. Grandma absolutely loved her peanut butter Oreos, trail mix and Dr. Pepper as well as any other sweet treat she could find. Growing up, all the grandkids knew that the cow cookie jar was the Oreo jar and the apple one was full of assorted candies. It wasn’t just her grandkids that adored her and her sweet treats. She would meet the neighborhood kids out front each day as the bus let them off from school and they would all come running up to get a piece (or two if they were extra nice) of candy from her. It was her favorite part of the day seeing the kids' faces light up. Everyone was drawn to her, especially children. Many kids in church and the neighborhood called her “Grandma Mary”. Mary was always very easy going and rarely had any demands from others as she was always putting others before herself. Her hand-painted Christmas cards and birthday cards with a sweet message in her pristinely perfect cursive handwriting will be missed with a heavy heart each year. Our family will never be the same without our dear, sweet (and as we liked to call her) “cute grandma” and her presence will be missed every day. Our family will forever be grateful for her bright influence and shoulder to lean on.

She is survived by her loving daughters Janiece (Fred) Seeley, Enterprise, Utah; Cherie Lea (Alan) Agapinan, McKinleyville, California; Laura (Ben) Adduru, Fredericksburg,Virginia; Sara Marie (Bryan) Mortenson, Parowan, Utah; sons, Wallace McKinley (Georgina) DeMille, Hurricane, Utah, and Wayne Leland DeMille, St. George, Utah; 16 grandchildren and 6 (soon to be 7) great grandchildren; sisters Maxine Hastings and Arlene Robertson and brother Wayne Brickey.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Edna Brickey, Husband Wallace Lynn DeMille, and daughter Kara Lynnette DeMille.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 6:00 pm at Spilsbury Mortuary, which is located at 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah 84770.
