Mary Ellen FLowers

Mary Ellen Timmerman Flowers, age 93, St. George, Utah, was born July 1, 1932, to William Peter Timmerman and Mary Elvira Littlefield Timmerman in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had four brothers. She married Richard William Flowers April 26, 1950, in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in California briefly while Dick served in the Marines, and she gave birth to their first child while there. After Dick's military service, they returned to Salt Lake and lived there until a move to St. George in 1969 with their five children.

Mary was a homemaker while raising her children, and later worked at JC Penney's for over 20 years. She was active in the LDS Church and served in many callings through the years, always going the extra mile. She was a wonderful hostess, and her home was often referred to as Dick and Mary's Bed and Breakfast.

She is survived by her children, Marilee Chapman (Barney), Carol Flowers (Kyle Anderson), Gary Flowers; daughters-in-law, Francis Hadley Flowers and Kathy Gifford Flowers; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and two sons, William Richard Flowers and Steven Daly Flowers.

Funeral services will be held at the Red Hills Chapel, 200 W 500 N, St. George, Utah, Saturday, June 13, at 11:00 am, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am. Mary will be laid to rest at the St. George City Cemetery following the services.
