La Verkin- Michael Dan Solomon, 60, passed away June 15, 2019 unexpectedly from natural causes. He was born January 11, 1959 in Inglewood, CA to Daniel Jack Solomon and Lucille Fattler. He was married to Fidelina Hilerio.
Mike was raised in California, Virginia, and New York, but he fell in love with Utah and the red dirt in his late teens. He was drawn to the outdoors and nature, which quickly turned to his love for landscaping. He spent many years working on golf courses and local landscaping businesses. He always had a wealth of knowledge with plants and landscaping. He grew up with parents heavily involved in the art scene, which passed on to Mike’s love for drawing. Mike had a keen ear for music. His happy place was always with a guitar in his lap. You could always find Mike in a tie dye shirt. Mike left an impression on everyone he met. He was kind to all and never judged anyone for their past. He had a big heart to love and always had a very special place for his friends and family. He left this earth too soon, but his legacy in his family is a testament of the bonds of love that Mike radiated.
Mike is survived by his wife, Fidelina Hilerio; daughter, Charis (Jose) Sanchez of Hurricane, UT; son, Ryan Solomon of St. George, UT; daughter, Jordain (Brooks) Nielsen of Naples, FL; step-sons, Paul Hilerio, Juan Hilerio, Franklin Hilerio, Jose-Enrique Hilerio; grandchildren, Jadenn Sanchez, Cedes Sanchez, Matix Nielsen, Tyler Nielsen, and Hayden Nielsen; father, D. Jack (Jeanette) Solomon; sister, Pamela (Jason) Lejeune; and nephew, Jack Williams. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Fattler Solomon.
A mass was held in Mike’s honor on June 19, 2019. His ashes will rest with his mother’s in the Kolob Mountains.
