Miki Lee Rowan

September 9, 1972 — May 27, 2022

Miki Lee (Conklin) Rowan was born on September 9, 1972, to Gene and Edith Conklin in Prosperity, Pennsylvania. She lived courageously with Lung cancer for the last eighteen months before passing away peacefully at the St. George Regional Hospital in St. George, UT on May 27, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Miki married Johnny Rowan in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on February 28, 1997. They have one son, Chase Rowan of Taylorsville, UT.

Miki was raised in a home full of love. She grew up both on the family farm in Prosperity, PA and in Manchester, NH. She always considered the farm in Prosperity home and had fond memories of growing up there with her twelve brothers and sisters. Miki was taught the value of hard work and had a very strong work ethic.

She attended Brigham Young University and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Argentina. Miki also attended Dixie State University, graduating Suma Cum Laude with a degree in Elementary Education. She also earned a Masters Degree from Western Governors University.

Miki was a born teacher. She loved to teach children and used her creative gifts to teach and bless the lives of her students, family, and friends.

She was a happy, kind, and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She greeted everyone she knew with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. She had a keen sense of humor and loved to laugh. She brightened every room and made the world a better place.

She is survived by her husband John Rowan of Toquerville, UT, and her son Chase Rowan of Taylorsville, UT.

Miki is also survived by her Father, Gene R. Conklin of Prosperity, PA, and three brothers Phil (Beth) Conklin, John Conklin also of Prosperity, PA, and Tim Conklin (Merf) of Greenville, SC. She’s also survived by eight sisters; Melissa Heath of McKinney, TX, Melanie (Bill) Steffey, Prosperity, PA, Mary Beth (Larry) Bell, of Horn Lake, MS, Marvel (Mark) Earnshaw, Cape Elizabeth, ME, Millie (Robert) Bickmore, Tomball, TX, Mindi (Mike) Harden, Washington, PA, Marci (John) Hills, Goffstown NH, Monica (Garret) Larson, Snohomish, WA; and a sister in-law Debbie Conklin of Washington, PA.

She is preceded in death by her Mother Edith Conklin, brother Todd Conklin, and nephew Boone Beckus.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Chapel at 63 Toquer Blvd., Toquerville, UT 84774. A live Zoom Broadcast of the service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the following link: https://zoom.us/j/97773276377

Interment will take place at the Toquerville Cemetery.
