Minnie Lee Clark Pittman 9-26-1942 to 12-31-2025, Gunlock, Utah
Our beautiful mother was born in Muleshoe, TX, to Melvin Lafayette Clark and Minnie Lee Glasscock Clark. She was the oldest of eight.
When she was ten, the family moved to northern California, where she went to Bates Elementary in Courtland. She graduated from Clarksburg High School, and attended California State University, Sacramento. She later furthered her education at Southern Utah University, majoring in art, and psychology, and obtaining her teaching certification.
She met our Dad, Edward Lee Pittman, while attending Cal State. They were married from 1961 through 1979, and had three amazing kids, Judy, John, and Melinda. During their marriage they lived in Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, and Bakersfield, CA, Kingman, AZ, and Richmond, VA, before settling in St. George, UT in 1967.
She later moved to Enoch, UT where she lived until 2023. She enjoyed her last few years in Gunlock, UT, living with Jay and Judy.
Mom's life was full with work and service, quiet acts of kindness, and meaningful friendships. She had a unique talent for bringing out the best gifts in people.
She read voraciously, gardened year-round, and almost always carried a sketch pad to draw and paint. She sang and danced enthusiastically and loved to go on adventures. Mom found beauty everywhere she went. In everything. In everyone.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Leavitt (Jay), Gunlock, UT, and Melinda Jensen (Mika), Tucson, AZ, ten grandchildren; Jarold, Justin, Kara, Edward, Melea, Jennifer, Alyssa, Brittany, Kat, and Autumn, seventeen great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters; Nellobeth Head, Citrus Heights, CA, Marvin Clark (Rene'), Kennewick, WA, Leonard Clark (Vikki), Roseville, CA, Anna Nowell, Roseville, MN, brother-in-law, David Smith, Dunsmuir, CA, and many nephews and nieces who she was so very proud of.
Mom was preceded in death by her son, John Pittman, her parents, brothers, James Clark and Michael Clark, sister-in-law, Mary Clark, and sister, Paula Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 10th, 1:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George, UT. She chose cremation, her ashes will be scattered at a later time.
Those unable to attend the service are invited to join and watch the livestream at 1:00 p.m. through the following link: Livestream Link
Mom did not want us to mourn and wear dark hues. Please wear your favorite brilliant colors in her remembrance. If your favorite color is black, add some sparkle!
In lieu of flowers, Mom would encourage volunteering or donating to your local shelter and/or food pantry.
Arrangements were made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 435-673-2454.
