Penni Leavitt

March 14, 1964 — November 6, 2021

Hurricane Utah

Penni Leavitt, 57, received her wings and returned to our father in Heaven after a short but courageous battle with Pancreatic cancer on Saturday, November 6, 2021. She was born on March 14, 1964, to Vickie Gunnell and Morgan Leavitt. Penni was born and raised in Soda Springs, Idaho, where she lived on a farm and loved to help her parents tend to the animals and daily chores. She would always tell stories about her farm life and how much she loved living on the farm and playing with the animals. At the age of 13 her family moved to Oklahoma where they resided for a few years until relocating to Utah. Several years after moving to Utah Penni met her first husband Todd and they had 2 beautiful daughters, CaSondra (Cassi) and Morgan. Years after Penni and Todd divorced, Penni met her second husband Steve, and they had a beautiful daughter ShaNiece. Even though Penni and Steve divorced, Penni gained two amazing bonus children Tyler and Lindsey. Penni drove a school bus for children with special needs and the hearing impaired for many years. She loved every student on her bus as if they were her own and she even went as far as learning ASL to be able to communicate with some of her students. Penni was also a correctional officer during her lifetime, and she was very well respected by the inmates and other officers. Penni loved to be outdoors and in nature. She loved going to the ocean, camping, hunting, hiking, and adventuring. She also loved sewing quilts, making crafts and spending time with her family. As her children got older, they blessed her with many amazing grandchildren whom she loved so much. Her children and grandchildren were her everything. Penni was always so full of life and was always willing to go the extra mile for the ones she loved. She had an amazing sense of humor and could make you laugh no matter the circumstance. She was loved by so many and will be sorely missed by all who loved her.

Penni is survived by her fiancé Ron Pribula, daughters Cassi Barreras, Morgan (Mike) Cantwell, and ShaNiece (William) Abbott, her grandchildren, mother Vickie Hirschi, sisters Tori Leavitt, Heidi Morris, Korri Sutton, and Courtney LeGrand. She is preceded in death by her birth father Morgan Leavitt, her dad MacRay Hirschi, and her granddaughter Lexie Marie Thomas.

Penni's daughters and Fiancé would like to give a very special thank you to Dixie Hospice for helping us take such amazing care of our Momma.
