Ryan Kenny Kee, 34, of Hurricane, Utah, passed away peacefully at his home on September 6, 2025.
He was born May 8, 1991, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Brett Claire Kee and Cynthia Gean Martin. Ryan grew up in Murray, Utah, and later moved to Draper, where he spent the remainder of his childhood. The third of five boys, Ryan was a proud middle brother who was deeply family-oriented—his family was everything to him, and anyone who knew Ryan knew that. Ryan especially looked up to his dad, Brett, who was not only his father but also his role model and friend.
He attended Murray High School, where he played football as a captain, wrestled, and played rugby. His dad recalls Ryan weighing “a buck fifty” and still taking down opponents twice his size. Ryan was known as a loyal, loving, and supportive friend with a listening ear for everyone. He was a true stoic—strong, calm, and steady. His love language was teasing others, a gift of humor and connection that brought joy and laughter wherever he went.
At 21, Ryan met Elliott, who was 19 at the time. The two kept in touch throughout the years before reconnecting in 2020. On October 12, 2021, they welcomed their first beautiful daughter, Arizona Ellie—and the rest was history. Ryan and Elliott were married on September 21, 2023, in Washington, Utah, after celebrating their wedding with loved ones in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on August 1, 2023. Ryan and Elliott were truly the loves of each other’s lives. He never let a day pass without reminding Elliott that she and Arizona were his “everything.”
Ryan built his career in the oil field, where he worked for 10 years and went on to become a respected crew lead. Known for his honesty, patience, and positivity, Ryan had a gift for staying calm and working toward solutions no matter the challenge. He was honest and straightforward—he’d tell you like it was, always with kindness. With Ryan, there were no games; he offered authenticity, genuine care, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand, no matter how big or small. Recently, he earned his contractor’s license and proudly built a spec home with his brother, Justin, in their neighborhood. He never cut corners, giving 110% to everything he did.
Above all, Ryan loved being a husband and a dad. He and Elliott are blessed with a daughter, Arizona Ellie, and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second daughter, Billie Emery, in February 2026. Ryan was the ultimate girl dad—entirely devoted to his girls and endlessly proud to raise strong, happy daughters. He found his greatest joy in family life—raising, loving, and supporting his girls. He truly was 1:1. He also treasured time with his golden retriever, Gus Hank, and the close-knit community near his parents and brothers. Ryan embraced life wholeheartedly, though he would be quick to remind everyone of one thing he never embraced—onions.
Ryan enjoyed traveling, being outside, exploring the outdoors, and adventures in their side-by-side. He loved trying new recipes for his wife, going for drives, and jamming to music—especially with his brothers and friends. Growing up, he loved snowboarding at Brighton and tearing it up with his brothers and friends. He cherished family traditions—yearly trips, camping, sand dunes, ranch work at his Papa Bryan’s in Oregon, and time spent with his grandparents and extended family in Utah, Washington, and Oregon. Ryan had a way of finding joy in every moment and with every person he was with; he lived fully, responsibly, and with so many admirable qualities. We all hope to live like Ryan.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Elliott; daughters, Arizona and Billie; parents, Brett (Vickie) Kee, Ivins, and Cynthia (John) Reynolds, Washington; mother-in-law, Wendie Reynolds, Riverton; brothers, Michael (Alicia) Workman, Rochester, NY; Justin (Kallie) Kee, Hurricane; Brandon (Jessica) Kee, Ivins; and Jordan (Zoe) Kee, Hurricane; brother-in-law, Justin Barney, South Jordan; ten nieces and nephews; and grandparents, Mary Gean Martin, Annabella; Leslie Bickmore, Vancouver, WA; Jacquie (Randy) Wagner, West Jordan; Sallie Fetherstone, Murray; and Linda Reynolds, Sandy.
