Mesquite, Nevada- Sandra Marie Leavitt, age 76, passed away on Sunday, May 18. Sandra was born on April 10, 1949, in San Juan, Puerto Rico to William Kirk Fritts and America Anglero Arenas. Sandra married Mitcheal Dean Leavitt on February 14, 1969 in Mesquite, Nevada.
Sandra's father had a career in the U.S. Army. Which led her to be raised in many places including, New York, New Jersey, Texas, San Juan Puerto Rico and even Israel. Sandra used to play ice hockey as a child living in the Northeast U.S. She was the oldest daughter, and she would always help take care of her younger siblings in all of the new places they would move to. The family eventually ended up settling in Mesquite Nevada, where Sandra graduated from high school.
Sandra had many talents and could do anything that piqued her interest. She enjoyed coloring and styling her sister's hair, she was an amazingly talented florist for many years, including having her own Floral Shop. Sandra, above all, was a selfless caretaker, who truly enjoyed taking care of others. This led her to eventually attend Dixie College and become a CNA.
Sandra was always giving her time and care to many people who needed it. She was truly an angel on earth. Always putting the needs of others over her own. She loved to listen to music, two of her favorites being the Temptations and Phil Collins. Sandra loved being a mom and even more so being a grandmother. She did not care for red roses.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Mitcheal Dean Leavitt of Mesquite, Nevada; Sons Brandon Leavitt (Mesquite, Nevada), James Leavitt (Utah), Sean Leavitt (Jill Leavitt) St. George, Utah. Her grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew, Jessica and J.J. Leavitt (James). Kylee Seager, Kelsey and Kenzlie Leavitt (Sean and Jill). Her sisters Sonia Waite (Utah), Rita Barnum (the late Elwin K.
