Wallace Lynn Demille

July 8, 1943 — November 24, 2021

St. George, Utah, Wallace Lynn DeMille, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, 78, passed away November 24, 2021. Wallace was born on July 8, 1943, to parents Wallace Delworth DeMille and Maude Nerene Riding DeMille. He married Mary Louise Brickey on October 9, 1965, in the St. George Temple.

Wallace attended schools in Washington County and served in the Utah National Guard. He and Mary had seven wonderful children, Janiece, Cherie, Kara, Laura, Sara, Wallace and Wayne.

Wally worked for O.M. Porter in St. George in the early days. He also worked for Hostess Cakes in Southern California for a time until the family moved to Willits, California to work in a partnership of a dairy distribution, Spring Grove Creamery.

In 1993, they moved back to St. George where he worked for A-1 Services until he retired.

Wally was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Bishopric and was a member of the High Council.

He loved to garden and was very generous with the massive amounts of vegetables that he grew. The garden was his happy place and bottling the fruits of his labor was a great source of pride for him throughout his life. He loved to take road trips and explore this great country. He always wanted to “go for a ride”. Some of our fondest memories were of going places with dad. We could always count on having cheese and crackers and stopping for a “pop”. He enjoyed giving quizzes about everything and taught us a great deal through these quiz games.

Wallace is survived by his sister, Nerene Potter, loving wife, Mary; daughters Janiece Sudweeks, St. George, Utah; Cherie Lea (Alan) Agapinan, McKinleyville, California; Laura (Ben) Adduru, Fredericksburg,Virginia; Sara Marie (Bryan) Mortenson, Parowan, Utah; sons, Wallace McKinley (Georgina) DeMille, Hurricane, Utah, and Wayne Leland DeMille, St. George, Utah; siblings Lloyd (Hester) DeMille, Washington, Utah, Nerene Potter and Stanley (Sally) DeMille, Santa Clara, Utah; 16 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Wallace Delworth and Maude Nerene DeMille, daughter Kara Lynnette DeMille, brothers Larry Delworth DeMille (died as a child) and Leland Glenn DeMille (Neva).
