William Fraley

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William Ray Fraley, known to many simply as "Ray". Ray entered into eternal rest on October 30, 2025, in St. George, Utah. With Ray's departure, we remember a true cowboy who loved his family and life itself.

Ray was born on August 31, 1939, in Oklahoma, a son of the late Tony and Iva Florine Fraley. Like many before him, Ray found his way out west to Las Vegas, Nevada where he resided for many years. After a successful career with the Operating Engineers Union in Las Vegas, Ray began his next chapter of life in a place he loved so dearly, Pioche, Nevada. It was here where Ray proudly displayed that cowboy spirit of rugged individualism, hard work and unwavering sense of adventure. Ray loved hunting, fishing and classic Western films. He was also very proud to be a Nevada State Branding Inspector for many years.

Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife Vicki L. Fraley, his son Raymond C. Fraley, his brother Jimmy J. Fraley, and his parents Tony and Iva Fraley. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his son, William Todd Fraley, daughters Jolynn Hilliard and Deborah L. Morris, as well as his 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and his precious dog Ellie who was always by his side.

Ray also leaves behind many extended family members and a circle of close friends who he cherished and loved like family. We find comfort in knowing Ray's legacy lives on through the memories we all share and will cherish forever.

Details for a celebration of Ray's life will be announced when available. In the meantime, the family asks that you honor Ray's memory by watching your favorite Western movie and/or sharing a fond memory.

Friends and family are invited to sign Ray's online guest book at http://www.spilsburymortuary.com.

Cremation services were performed by Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. 435-673-2454.
